Jeff does a great job researching older and newer Christmas and holiday season traditions from around the world. This podcast is where I first learned of Rauhnacht and the Yule Goat, among other winter solstice -related traditions not so well known in the US. For Jeff- if you ever revisit the colors episode, please consider the relationship of gold and silver to the holidays! AlsoI would like to learn more about bells and their relation to Christmas. One suggestion , occasionally the audio is a bit low or unbalanced with the music.

Jeff presents a wide array of fascinating Christmas topics.

This podcast is like the chronicled history of Christmas, and even non-Christmas, with all of its colorful fables, lore and legends. It can be complicated, head-scratching, and bizarre, but it is always fascinating. You can’t turn it off, nor do you want to! I am always eagerly waiting for the next cool global Christmas character, who probably deserves his or her own feature film or series!

This podcast is really informative, and the topics are ones that you dont hear on other podcasts. A great listen, and worth clicking subscribe!

This is an enjoyable Christmas podcast, less hyper than other Christmas podcasts, so a nice way to end this day during the busy holidays. I like his open-minded approach to Christmas—going around the world and into the past to connect to and learn about Christmas traditions.

A really fun and informative podcast especially for people’s whose families still celebrate old world holidays like St Nick’s. For us, it seemed to be a combination of kindly St Nick combined with a bit of the Krampus or Black Pete personas. Whatever, we still celebrate it and the kids love to be scared on Dec 6!! Nan0902

I just found this podcast and it is my Christmas present to myself this year. It’s full of fun, information, history and a whimsical serialized story. Comforting and cozy. A great listen.

This is such an interesting and fun podcast, and I have learned so much about the history of Christmas! It’s a great podcast that really puts you in a Christmas-y mood. The only thing I’m not a big fan of is the background music; I wish it was only played at the opening and/or closing to the podcast. Overall a very engaging show!
